Insurgent movie review

I waited a few days after watching this to let it set in, see if any of my views on it changed. They didn’t, for its genre this was a good movie, and I liked it a lot more than the book (not that it matters in a movie review). Though not an amazing movie by any standards you get out of it as much as you could have possibly hoped for. It is in my opinion the best of all of these “teen post-apocalyptic dystopian book to movie adaptation” movies. When if you think about it for a second is ridiculous we are still somehow getting a new one every few months. Anyway, this is the best of the bunch so far. The world is large, the scope is wide, the action feels nerve racking. Twists and turns everywhere, and most of the characters are solid. The least of which is the chemistry between the two main characters, which should be most important. I still feel weird watching them together. The best of which is Peter played by Miles Teller. Miles steals the screen whenever he is on it with his never-out-of-role acting and supreme confidence, I don’t know if its him or the writer but either way it’s great. I couldn’t get through the third book but this definitely has me excited for the movie!

  1. This movie sucked in comparison to the book! This book was my favorite out of the series and this movie didn’t match the book at all!! It was like watching a completely different tale unfold.
I am not a fan of Shailene Woodley at all. She bugs me, because whenever I see her I think Secret Life of the American Teenager, so I can’t take her seriously. Now as for Theo James… he is HOT, but it is creepy that he’s like way older than her, so I can’t take their relationship seriously either. And if I am being honest, I just couldn’t wait for Ansel Elgort to come back on screen!
I do agree that the last book sucked. It took me months to finish. IT WAS AWFUL!
