Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children trailer review

This truly is the golden age for young adult novel adaptations… Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was originally a brilliant YA novel written by Ransom Riggs. The novel itself was extremely original and pulled together by old timey photographs that Riggs found. The movie, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, looks relatively true to the novel except for a few things. But, I wont spoil anything in case you haven’t read it!.. Tim Burton is directing this movie and I will admit that I have never appreciated his directing… I fucking hate it. BUT, nobody could have done this movie justice but this man and it looks like he is toning down his weirdness just enough for this to look great! I don’t know a single one of these kids but I definitely know Eva green and Sam Jackson!.. In the end this trailer was powerful and it gave me goosebumps. It was exciting seeing everything I only previously saw in my imagination… There is so much good material in this novel, if the movie is as good as the trailer and uses the material wisely, we are looking at a great trilogy!

  1. When I saw Burton was directing, my immediate thought was “oh dear.” But then, this is the most Tim Burton-y of novels, so I agree that his particular whimsy ought to do well here. I’m eager to see how they bring the book to life–those pictures are so striking and powerful!
