Attack on Titan TV show review

I’ve never seen an anime before (unless you count Avatar). I tried watching them a long time ago and I didn’t like them AT ALL. So, I came to the conclusion that I would never watch an anime again… Well I watched an Anime again and I’m here to tell you that I didn’t hate it! It was actually very exciting. I watch so many movies and TV shows and observe them so closely that I can predict what will happen almost immediately. I tried that at the beginning of this and got literally every prediction wrong!.. Attack on Titan follows a civilization drove to near extinction by “Titans”, large humanoid things that get off on eating people. After near extinction the humans erect walls and learn to fight back. I’m not going to tell you what I predicted and what ACTUALLY happens, but none of them overlap… The first thing that hooked me into this show was that they don’t hold back on the violence and gore. Which is good! Giants eating people alive is going to be very very bloody. The next was the score and soundtrack. Oh my god this score is so bad-ass that I want to get it on a CD and listen to it on road trips!.. Something I will say though is that all three main characters are the most annoying little shits I have ever seen. I struggled to keep watching on so many occasions with their over the top anger, crying, and stupidity. And, if it weren’t for the MASSIVE cliffhanger at the end of ever episode I would have quit… So, if you are new to anime’s and want to get into them I recommend this one as a great starter.

  1. … P.S don’t watch the live action film! it’s… it’s like Spike Lee making the remake of Oldboy, it just shouldn’t have existed

  2. You definitely picked one of the best Animeseries ever made. It is truly fantastic, and yes season 2 is coming up next year. If you like this, you might want to check out Another. It is a horror anime, with only 12 episodes, but also was a very cool show.

  3. I would highly recommend ‘Death Note’ to anyone looking to get into it! I was hooked from the first time I saw the manga, and the series blew me away

  4. This is such a great show. The opening theme for the first half of the season is one of the best opening themes ever. Supposedly, season 2 is coming out early next year. I can’t wait! If you are looking to try another anime, look at Death Note, it is done by the same director as Attack on Titan.
