The Banker is an upcoming 2019 American drama film written and directed by George Nolfi. It stars Samuel L. Jackson, Anthony Mackie, Nicholas Hoult, Nia Long, Jessie Usher and Colm Meaney. The Banker is the true story of two African American entrepreneurs, Bernard Garrett (Mackie) and Joe Morris (Jackson), who during the 1950’s tried to circumvent the racial limitations of the era and take on the establishment by recruiting a working class white man, Matt Steiner (Hoult) and training him to pose as the head of their business empire while they posed as a janitor and a chauffeu

I’m pretty conflicted on my thoughts when it comes to this films release and its trailer. I love movies like this, revolutionary biopics. It gives me a lot of the same vibes that 42 gave me. Funny, dramatic and uplifting… On the other hand, its Apple. There may not be anything inherently wrong with that, but I am worried they will wash it down and not due the story justice, purely at the service of not upsetting anyone. It’s also impossible to watch unless you own Apple products, same with all the shows they release, so I’m screwed.

Even if it is washed down, I’m familiar with the story and really excited to see it hit the screens. I cant think of anyone better to helm it than the actors they already got.
