I am so much more excited for this than I will ever be for Justice League! Behind these characters is six seasons of arc, character building, world development, and damn good intertwined plot. Marvels Netflix series rivals their movies in my (not-so)professional opinion, and they have done something beautiful with this. I can already tell. The chemistry and band-and-forth of these characters is flawless and wonderful. They are all so different, so weird, yet so perfect together as a fucked up “Avengers”-like team. I expect nothing less than greatness from this show.
Easter Egg! The Trailer! I’m serious, try to catch all the easter eggs in this ONE trailer on your first watch. You won’t be able to!
Now, I’m going to be very controversial here and tell you that I am actually quite disappointed by this trailer. It hurts me to say it, having loved the book and wanting to love this trailer, but I just don’t like it. I realize that books are books and movies are movies, but the only thing that reminds me of the book in any way are the stacks in the beginning. Other than that I know nothing of this film and it appears to me to be a CGI cluster-fuck… Granted, there is a high possibility that we know nothing on purpose but who knows? Steven Spielberg has the reigns on this and could very well deliver something a novel of this stature deserves.
Please, please, PLEASE be as awesome and as over the top as the first one is and you are making this on look… I beg of you! As you may be able to tell, I was a bit of a fan of the first Kingsman movie. No part of me expected a second one, but we are in 2017 and that is what we do. This at least looks good and has what appears to be a fresh take! On top of that they brought back Colin Firth! I don’t know how, but personally I don’t care how… The spin they have put on The Golden Circle of partnering with their American cousins “The Statesmen” has to be the funniest little twist I could have ever thought of. Everything English is exaggerated and over the top and I expect no less of every American stereotype. Who better to bring that home than Channing Tatum too? The Modern-day-old-school James Bond is back!
The magic of the 80’s… In 2017… Stranger Things came out as a rather unknown show that Netflix was trying out. It had virtually no talk behind it, and an eight episode release. It became the most talked about series virtually over night, blowing not only my mind but everyone who saw it. Season 2 seems to have no means of slowing that down, and looks as though it will even UP the ante. This trailer is brilliant… Set to MJ’s Thriller, which the music video released the same year this is set in. Opening up on Dragons Lair, showing Will slipping in to the Upside Down, ELEVEN!.. I will binge this show the second it comes out, and I hope you will join me.
I have watched a lot of Comic-Con trailers today and it feels very weird to say that this is the best one out of them all. I have goosebumps from watching this! It feels like I am watch a movie trailer here, not a CBS TV show trailer in any capacity. On top of that, it feels like nothing I have ever seen before. There is so much Star Trek material already in the world already, TV show and movie alike. This feels and looks like none of it. It’s dark and gritty, it feels powerful and large… Some will say that it is too unfaithful from the original and I say that is okay. The old Star Trek was powerful and large for its time, but it would not work today. THIS is powerful and large and has the capacity to inspire a generation like the ones before it. I believe.
SO, unquestionably this trailer is awesome. The music is awesome, the action is awesome, and it shows just enough to get excited about. It is also without question though that all cool parts of this trailer are featuring the Hulk. It begs the question… Was this movie made, and then they realized that their secondary character is the only good aspect, OR is Hulk actually as large a part of this movie as they are painting for us?.. Things I don’t like, or are just confusing, is the amount of comedy and Bruce acting weird. I like comedy, in fact I love it! So far though it seems like too much is being used and I don’t want it to be over crowded with comedy in a universe that has been gradually moving darker in a good way. Also, what the fuck is wrong with Bruce!? He’s acting weird in this… Either way, it’s Marvel so obviously I’m not going to write it off until I see it.
P.S. Hulk talking is amazing, and I would see this just to hear more of it.
Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please. Please… So I get done writing my review for the Wonder Woman trailer and I refresh YouTube and see this. And it’s not like I’m going to IGNORE the fucking Justice League!.. The difference is that I’m more excited for Wonder Woman. I’m scared for this. I’m still going to see it, I’m not out of my mind, but I feel like it’s too much too soon. Yes, when Avengers came out it was only four years after Iron man and this is only three years of Man of Steel. However, there were five movies before Avengers that were all very good. Before this there is a shitty Superman movie, a shitty collaboration movie, and 2 that haven’t even been released yet. All I’m saying is there is every right to be VERY concerned about this and how quickly it was rushed… On to the trailer though! It opens very dark and gritty, which is expected, but, what was unexpected was the tone change to Icky Thump, and that brought a smile to my face!.. We have our glimpse of Aquaman and I am IMPRESSED. Thats not even sarcasm! Throughout this trailer he is just a bad ass and I love it.We then move on to The Flash, who finally addresses the “man sitting in dark introduces himself cliche” and I was sold more… Thats where I stop being impressed though. This trailer starts off strong with Batman recruiting the League for some massive evil that is coming for them, and I rather enjoy that premise. On top of that Batman’s and Wonder Woman’s suits are amazing… Then we spend an entire minute with The Flash and it cuts to the shittiest suits of Flash and Cyborg anyone could ever think up… And then its over… Just over. I know I will probably get flack for this but after the excitement wears of and you re-watch this, its not that good. I expected more from a comic-con trailer, and with Wonder Woman I know DC can deliver it.
